A number of tax credits for residential energy efficiency that had expired at the end of 2016 were renewed. These tax credits are now available retroactive to purchases made through December 31, 2017.
If you upgraded to a quality metal roof from Central States in 2017, you might qualify for a $500 tax credit.
The tax credit applies to a homeowner who re-roofs their primary residence using an energy efficient metal panel in a ENERGY STAR certified color. Tax credit does not apply to new construction. The tax credit will cover 10% of the cost of materials installed, up to $500. Labor is not included. Contact your tax advisor for any specific questions related to Residential Energy Tax Credits.
