Jim Sliker

Chief Executive Officer

Jim Sliker forms a vision and makes it a reality through strategic development and structured execution. He is a servant leader who sets ambitious goals and provides support that helps the teams deliver on commitments. He has a contagious sense of enthusiasm and creates a fun environment. Jim’s passion to serve extends beyond the workplace as he supports various charitable organizations and schools in the community.

As CEO of Central States Manufacturing, a 100% employee-owned company and leader in the metal building components industry, Jim has encouraged the organization to challenge the status quo and find new opportunities which has resulted in revenue growth that outpaces the competition. The company has transformed systems, processes and technology to support the growth and continually improve best-in-class customer service.

Previously, Jim was the President of Valeo Thermal Systems North America, which was a $1.2 billion business providing air conditioning and engine cooling systems to most of the OEM automotive companies. During his tenure, he held positions in Project Management, Sales and Operations.

Jim earned a BSME from Kettering University along with an MBA from the University of Michigan. He serves on the Bentonville Christian Academy board, Make-A-Wish regional board and the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter board. Jim lives with his wife, Buffy, and two daughters, Abbey and Maggie, in Centerton, AR.

Tim Ruger

Chief Operating Officer

Tim has over 25 years of experience in various roles in manufacturing. He was trained as a mechanical engineer at Western Michigan University and has continued his education in business management at the University of Wisconsin and CEDEP, INSEAD Business School in France. Starting his career he worked within a Toyota Keiretsu learning the practical application of lean manufacturing through the Toyota Manufacturing system while serving in the product and quality engineering departments. His first leadership role was leading a team in the development of a vehicle climate testing lab. As he progressed through his career, he has served in roles that have included responsibilities for IT/IS department (during which he was featured in Net Economy magazine and a keynote speaker at various industry events sharing his vision for remote collaboration utilizing various technological platforms). Additionally, he led the integration of ERP solutions at two different companies. Tim has also led various international activities including projects in Asia, Europe, North and South America. These activities have included items from launching of newly engineered products to starting greenfield sites. Tim has overseen and been involved in the creation of over 7 new facility start-ups. Also, he oversaw the integration of a Ford Motor Company components manufacturing plant into a newly created company. Tim served in roles as Test Engineer, Lab manager, Engineering Manager, IT/IS Director, North American Director of R&D and Program Management, and Executive Vice President of Operations before his current role at Central States as COO. Outside of work Tim is involved in his church as well as having had leadership involvement in Junior Achievement and The Boy Scouts of America. Tim and his wife, Mary, have two boys Nolan and Zachary.

Chad Ware

Chief Financial Officer

Chad Ware joined Central States Manufacturing in June 2018 as Chief Financial Officer. He began his career in public accounting at HoganTaylor in its audit practice, focusing on manufacturing, retail and not-for-profit industries. Mr. Ware then moved to Tyson Foods, Inc. holding various roles in internal audit and corporate accounting, including Director of Financial Reporting. Mr. Ware has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Harding University and is a certified public accountant (inactive) in Arkansas. Chad and his wife, Amanda, have a son and daughter, Harry and Georgia.

Vince Tate

Vice President, Purchasing & Strategy

Vincent E. Tate served as the Chief Financial Officer of Central States Manufacturing, Inc. from March 2009 to 2018. He was instrumental in the 2011 transaction whereby Central States became 100% employee-owned and subsequently made an S-election to become tax exempt. He has over 25 years of experience, including more than 12 years as a CFO in three manufacturing companies, more than 5 years as General Manager in the manufacturing division of Weatherford International, Ltd, a publicly traded oilfield services company, and 5 years as President of a financial sales and marketing company. Prior to moving into industry, Vince was a manager with the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche. Since 2018, Vince has served as the Vice President of Purchasing and Strategy, focusing on inventory reduction and researching acquisitions. He has a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Business from Hendrix College and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. Vince and his wife, Carla, have three daughters – Ellery, Lucy and Willa.

Adam Haynes

Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Adam began his professional career at Central States as intern while graduating with a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. After a year working in operations, Adam moved to the sales team and worked in both inside sales and outside, growing our Alabama and Mississippi territories. Over a 16 year period, Adam has held positions in marketing, retail sales, sales management, inside sales, and outside sales. In 2019, Adam became the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Adam married his high school sweetheart and has three children, Chloe, Madison, and Asher. Adam is an active member in his local church and his community.
